    A moment of shame

    Shame is something that many of us have felt at one point or another. It’s an emotion, and as humans, we’re pretty much all programmed to have emotions and feel them. It all starts from the moment we’re born and pretty much goes on until we die. As individuals with ADHD/ADD, we feel shame too. We know all too well what it is.     Not letting shame get the better of me

    I’m sure that we’ve all experienced shame at one point or another. It is one of those emotions that may come up every once in a while. However, it seems that, if you have ADHD, shame seems to have a way of creeping up a bit more often. It seems that a lot of people with ADHD do face shame more often than individuals with neurotypical brains. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve forgot something or failed or whatever and felt so ashamed. Why couldn’t I be like other moms? Why can’t I have a neurotypical brain?     Shame Does Make an Appearance. Often.

    When you have ADHD/ADD, shame is something that often comes with the territory to say the least. It is something that I have often felt, and it would seem that the sense of shame is very common for those of us with ADHD/ADD. It would seem that I am not the only ADHDer/ADDer who feels shame often. We often feel shame when we feel that we’ve done something wrong, despite the fact that we haven’t really done anything wrong at all. And this usually happens often.
