    “I don’t see the difference”

I was having a conversation with someone with regards to my meds. Yes, I do use some ADHD meds, like some others with ADHD/ADD do. While some chose not to use them. Either way, it is a personal decision and there is no right or wrong choice, in this case. At least, that’s my opinion. There are a few reasons why I chose to take my ADHD meds. It pretty much comes down to I find that it helps me focus and be more productive. I find that there’s a huge difference between when I do take them and when I don’t. That feeling of failure

Here’s a feeling that we all have. Most of us may feel this sense of failure at one point in our lives or at another. Let’s face it, it happens. However, when someone has ADHD/ADD, it is different. We tend to fail more than our non-ADHD/ADD or neurotypical counterparts. Not that others don’t, but we just face and deal with failure and what comes with it more often. Studies have shown that ADHDers/ADDers receive so many more negative messages than their non-ADHD/ADD counterparts. We might feel it while we’re at school, when we fail a test, after studying really hard for it, or when we miss a deadline and submit…

    ADHD in a relationship

Every relationship needs work. No relationship is perfect. We all need to compromise a little, sometimes. It can be a lot of give and take. Sure, there can be some really great moments, but there can be some that aren’t so pretty. It can be challenging. Each relationship has its own set of challenges. However, when one or both partners has ADHD/ADD, there can be new or a different set of challenges. ADHD/ADD doesn’t really make it easy for the couple. I’m not saying that it makes it worse than the challenges for couples who don’t have to deal with ADHD/ADD or other mental health problems, but it does seem…

    Accepting my ADHD

There are things that we have to accept ourselves. It’s not something that is always easy to do, but there are times, when we have to. We should talk about it

So, October is here. We do associate October with a few things. Autumn. Halloween, which I love. Thanksgiving, if you’re in Canada. There may be more, depending on your area. Maybe there are some fall fairs. Either way, there are a few things going on this month. However, there is one more thing going on this month: ADHD Awareness Month. Yes, we have a month dedicated to bringing awareness to ADHD. I honestly do think that it is important to bring awareness to ADHD, as well as other mental health issues. I do mention mental health issues as well, as I feel that they are just as important, and many…

    Cleaning while you have ADHD

Cleaning is something that we all have to do. As adults, we can’t really avoid it. For most of us, it’s a fact that we come to accept. We need to clean the dishes, our home, our car, and such. We can’t really avoid it. For many, cleaning can be done. However, if you have ADHD/ADD, it’s a very different story. For those of us with ADHD/ADD, cleaning isn’t so easy. It is dull and isn’t interesting at all. Two things that absolutely don’t help us do things. If it isn’t interesting, ADHDers/ADDers are most likely going to struggle with the task. It can be overwhelming for us, when we…

If you’ve met one person with ADHD/ADD …

Recently, I’ve heard someone say that “If you met one person with ADHD/ADD, then you’ve met one person with ADHD/ADD.” Hearing this got me thinking. I was diagnosed at age 12, and hadn’t thought of it like that. But now that I’ve had the chance to learn about ADHD/ADD and talk to others with ADHD/ADD a little, I do have to agree with this saying. There is a lot of truth to this, and I definitely do have to agree with this saying. I think that there are a few reasons for this saying to be a good saying. And here are some of the reasons, in my opinion. First…
