My name is Dominique and I am 32 years old. I have three kids between the ages of 8 1/2 and 5, and have been married to my husband for 11 years. We’ve been together for 13 years.
I was diagnosed with the inattentive type of ADHD at the age of 12.
Prior to then, I knew I was kind of different. I had difficulty focusing on a task for long. I would daydream in class. I would study really hard for a test and then not remember anything, when I got to the test. I would get really frustrated. I can remember coming home, crying, after feeling kind of disappointed I didn’t do better. I would wonder what was I doing wrong. Even wonder what was wrong with me.
Thankfully, my dad listened to my frustrations, which led to seeing some psychologists, who were able to diagnose me with the inattentive type of ADHD.
Although I have known about my ADHD/ADD for a while, I can’t say that I know a whole lot about it, which has lead me to start do research of my own and starting this blog in January 2018.
I look forward to learning more about ADHD, mental health, motherhood, and bring awareness to these issues.
