    Connecting with your emotions

Sometimes, dealing with your emotions isn’t always easy. When you have ADHD/ADD, it can pose some extra challenges. Like every human beings, children and adults with ADHD/ADD have so many different emotions. After all, we’re human too. We have feelings just like everyone else. However, the way we experience them is quite different. Our brain isn’t neurotypical. The way our brain processes emotions is quite different. For instance, we know we shouldn’t start throwing things when we’re upset. It’s s something that we all know, and we all learn this when we’re little. There have been times, when I have forgotten to get all the information and had to go back and get all the information. I have overreacted a couple times, when I should have stayed calm, at times when most would probably stay calm. Forgotten to do something that…

Happiness. Anger. Sadness. Content. Emotions. We all have them. It’s all part of being human. No matter who we are, we will have feelings. From the moment we are born until the day we die. This is a given to many, if not all, of us. Absolutely normal. It’s something that a lot of us learn early on. How many of us have heard from others that it’s normal to feel the way we’re feeling? Many of us have probably heard this as toddlers from parents, grandparents, or whomever we were with at the time. I know I have. And I know tell my kids the same thing. Yes, having…
